Light Gauge Steel Framing

Lightweight structure. Permanent building.

LGSF uses factory-formed, coated cold-formed steel members to create precise wall, floor and roof framing. Cubora coordinates the frame with the foundation, envelope, services and finishes as one permanent building system.

Complete system guide

More than a structural frame.

The steel frame is only one layer of an LGSF building. Long-term comfort and durability also depend on the board specification, insulation, membranes, roof and wall cavities, openings, fire and acoustic build-ups, corrosion protection, services coordination and installation quality.

Best project fitWhere LGSF creates value
  • Premium homes, villas and farmhouses
  • Cottages, cabins and hospitality rooms
  • Low- to mid-rise commercial or institutional buildings
  • Rooftop and vertical additions after structural assessment
  • Sites where access, weight or wet construction is constrained
Engineered performancePerformance is designed—not assumed

Seismic design

Lower structural mass can reduce earthquake inertia, but stability still depends on the engineered bracing, connections, diaphragm action, foundations and continuous load path.

Corrosion protection

Specified metallic coatings, protected cut edges and fasteners, drainage, ventilation and separation from persistent moisture work together. Steel should be protected; it should not be marketed as rust-proof.

Fire, thermal and acoustic performance

Ratings and comfort come from tested or engineered assemblies—not from the frame alone. Board layers, insulation, cavities, penetrations and workmanship must match the design.

  • Site-specific wind and seismic actions
  • Heavy rain, roof drainage and wall water management
  • Humidity, condensation and ventilation strategy
  • Transport length, turning space and erection access
  • Slope stability, retaining and foundation conditions

  • Site review, surveys and feasibility inputs
  • Architectural and structural coordination
  • Foundation-to-frame connection design
  • Envelope, waterproofing and services interfaces
  • Fabrication, erection, quality checks and finishing
